A personal trainer who allegedly grabbed the breast of a teenager was yesterday arraigned before a City Magistrate to answer to a charge of sexual assault of a child.
Twenty-seven-year-old Michael Sampson, of Lot ‘B’ Plot ‘A’ Delhi Street, Prashad Nagar, appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs- Marcus and denied the charge which alleged that on February 19 at Delhi Street, Prashad Nagar, he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old child.
The defendant was represented by Attorney-at-law Bernard DaSilva who asked that bail be granted to his client in a reasonable amount. Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield had no objection to bail being granted to the defendant and he was released on $75,000 bail.
According to information, on the day in question the teen along with some relatives were at the defendant’s home and he allegedly touched her inappropriately. The child then told her mother what had transpired and the matter was reported to the station and the defendant was arrested and charged for the offence.
The Magistrate instructed the defendant to make his next court appearance on March 28.
