Play in the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association 2018 Knockout Tournament started on Saturday last at Vrymans Erven Basketball Court, New Amsterdam.
The game between Rose Hall Town Jammers and Hopetown stealers ended prematurely due to the rain. Both teams will go through to the next round, there are six teams in the tournament. Two semi-finals were also held on Sunday last at the New Amsterdam Court.
Fryish Black Shark created an upset by beating Ithaca Hardliners 43-30, Garfield Benjamin with a game high of 21 points, Linden Joseph 7 points and Saybrian Fortune 6 points offered support, while Hardliners Akel Benjamin 12 points, Michael Cham 6 points and Royan Solomon 6 points were the lead scorers.
Sharks lead 10-9 in the first quarter, while at Half time they were 17-16 in front and by the third quarter they were in front 33-22 as they slowed down the game and went more on their defence. The tournament continues with Canje Knights facing New Amsterdam on Friday, March 23rd at New Amsterdam Court.
