I relished the article headed “Importance of women to the psychosocial fabric of society”.
As a student in London in the 1950s, the late Sir “Joe Sabola” (subsequently known as Gonsalves-Sabola), married a close friend of mine, and very dear to his own mother, told me that “a mother makes a home, and once you have a good mother, you’re OK; if not, you feel maladjusted for the rest of your life”. I have personal proof of this.
I can assure you that child abuse can be both physical, emotional and psychological. And if all three forms are experienced on a regular or daily basis, the victim is damaged for life. With some victims this may be handed down, and become a pattern through generations.
I am now happy to note that this subject is being taken seriously, and that Canada’s PM Trudeau is a self-proclaimed feminist. Perhaps he is speaking from personal insight. I remember a joke circulating about his parents marital differences before his birth.
His mother was attending a party on her own and had not returned home at the time expected. His father rang her, to find out the position and she told him she was finishing a chat with politician Edward Kennedy. Dad replied “Good, make sure he drives you home”!
I still have this joke on my list of ‘ political funnies’.

By Sir Ronald Sanders (Kaieteur News) – Migration policy is a matter of sovereign control.
