DEAR EDITOR,
This old adage aptly describes what is reportedly going on in the sugar industry as indicated ad infinitum, including in Sunday’s (4/3/18) media which included reports of open, unnecessary and destructive discord between the different elements and compositions of the Board of GUYSUCO.
If we cannot get our act together at the leadership level of this major corporation then how on earth can we expect the rank and file, the thousands of sugar workers, to respond positively to whatever it is we need to do to restore the viability of the sugar industry?
As someone with a life-long interest and attachment to the sugar industry, I beg our leaders to quickly get their act together and start positive pursuit of what is right and necessary. Time is of essence; can we please stop bickering and start acting pragmatically!
Nowrang Persaud
