Two persons are severely injured and hospitalised following an accident along Rotterdam Village, East Bank Berbice Public Road. The accident occurred around 16:30hrs on Friday afternoon.
According to reports, Tyrell Henry, driver of motor vehicle, HC 8443, was proceeding in an easterly direction, allegedly at a very fast rate, when Henry lost control of the motorcar and slammed into a utility pole, bringing it down. The vehicle then toppled several times before coming to a halt.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver and his friend were speeding back and forth along the roadways of the villages before the tragedy.
Kaieteur News understands that Henry is not the owner of the vehicle. It is alleged that he stole it from a relative to take his friend for an afternoon drive.
According to information, the driver and his friend were both rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital.
Police investigations are continuing.
