Some junior ranks feel oppressed

Dear Editor,
Kindly permit me space in your newspaper to draw the public attention to the lawless activities going on in a certain police Division of the Guyana Police Force on a daily basis.
This Commander took command of this Division some time during October 2016 and from then to now it’s just chaos and confusion.
He is involved in several inappropriate relationships. Is the administration of the Guyana Police Force aware of this behaviour and failed to act? Is it because this commander is affiliated to the outgoing Commissioner of Police and the Acting Commissioner of Police that a blind eye is turned?
This is the same individual who was involved in similar relationships while he was Personal Assistant to the Commissioner and he continued with his act in Police ‘A’ and ‘C’ Divisions while he was Deputy Commander.
We the junior ranks are being pressured and even transferred while this guy is being promoted all because he and an official of the Police Service Commission are very close.
This indispensable Commander has several known characters who frequent the Mackenzie Police Station on a daily basis with heavily tinted cars and policemen and women can only whisper to themselves. They have to turn a blind eye because of tremendous pressure being meted out to us.
This indispensable Commander and the Finance Sergeant are involved in a serious fraud.
This indispensable Commander always told us to change the crime statistics to suit him. If there were five robberies he would tell us to put two for him to look good.
This indispensable Commander always pressures us when his friends complain to him. This indispensable Commander’s known characters pretend to fix police vehicles although there is a Police Mechanic in the division.
These characters are only thieving out the batteries from Police vehicles leaving us to get the blame. This indispensable Commander always harasses us when we arrest his Comrades upon instructions of his friends.
How much more are we going to take from this Commander who feels he is indispensable. We the Junior ranks are suffering at the hands of this commander.
We are calling on Minister of Public Security, Khemraj Ramjattan, and President David Granger to help and rescue us from this Police Commander.
