The state, represented by Attorney-at-Law Nigel Hughes, has closed it case in the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the murder of Ganesh Ramlall, called ‘Boyo’, who was shot and killed by bandits at his La Jalousie,
West Coast Demerara home in July 2015.
Lennox Roberts, 32, of Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo; Fazeel Bacchus, 21, of Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara and Kurt Erskine, 35, of Section ‘C’, Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara, are currently on remanded for the indictable offence.
The killing allegedly occurred on July 5, 2015.
Counsel for the accused is scheduled to make no-case submissions on November 15, before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Leonora Magistrates’ Courts.
According to reports, Ramlall of Lot C La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara was reportedly shot seven times about the body after bandits attacked his home.
The 48-year-old owner of Regent Multiplex Mall, Regent Street, Georgetown, had reportedly just returned home from a barbecue, when he was accosted by four men, one of whom shot him to the head and chest before relieving him of jewellery and a wallet before escaping.
