The rivers can be tricky at this time of the year. Unless one is familiar with the movement and the obstacles that appear one can be in trouble. That is going to be the case when a young pilot attempts to take some people up the river to a neighbouring community.
There will be some problem when the vessel encounters a law enforcement group that is suspicious. The boat would crash into the river bank and spill people into the flowing waters.

Greed will lead to the arrest of some people who had access to large sums of government money. Indeed this is going to cause problems for the investigators, because two of the people are prominent citizens with political connections.
The arrest will warrant detention, but the phalanx of lawyers would cause further problems.

Another murder would stun the country which is already recording more murders than road fatalities. This one would result from a family dispute. It would be a case of revenge in a usually quiet village.
