The police would respond to the sighting of an escaped criminal in the eastern part of the country. The reports are that the escaped prisoners are desirous of reaching Cayenne where the country has an aversion to the death penalty.

As fate would have it the homeowner would unload his suspicion to a neighbor who would then notify the police.
