Old people got a saying. “Duck got water fun swim; fowl want it to drink.” That mean what is luxury fuh some people is a necessity fuh others. Poor people always got to suffer. Some people got to clean dem schools. Dem does left dem home soon morning and clean dem schools before dem children could start de school in a clean environment.
Everybody know how hard dem got to work. Nuff of dem school ain’t got water, suh dem cleaners got to fetch water by bucket from either de canal or from tank in de yard. Now when is time fuh dem get pay dem got to protest.
Dem boys want to know how de government can find $40 million every month to pay de few private investors through Republic Bank. That money can pay all dem cleaners fuh de whole year. Instead, de same government can’t even pay dem cleaners. Some get pay fuh one week, but some ain’t get pay at all.
Imagine de government finding $12.5 million fuh pay fuh a drug bond in Charlestown, but dem can’t find one-tenth of that to pay de cleaners. Dem cleaners got children to support; some got rent to pay and of course dem got to buy personal things fun demself. Money is not a luxury; it is a necessity.
Yesterday, instead of leffing dem home to go to work in dem schools wheh children got a habit of messing up de toilet and expecting dem cleaners to clean up after dem, de same cleaners had to go outside de Ministry of Education to call attention to their plight. And de same people who had to pay dem just sit down and look down at de people outside in de sun.
De Ministry of Finance is de place that control all de money. Jordan know that he release money to de Education Ministry to pay everybody. But dem boys seh that some of that money that he spending pun de Marriott and pun de drug bond could pay teachers fuh a whole year and pay dem cleaners fun ten years.
Pay de cleaners.
Talk half and don’t forget that a luxury fuh some is a necessity fuh others.
