Representative Guyana team beat Surinamese in 40-over cricket match
A Representative Guyana team defeated their Suriname counterparts in a 40-over cricket match played in Holland over the weekend.
Elroy George, the oldest player on the team, holds the trophy after the Guyanese victory and presentation.
The Suriname side batted first and made 188 for 8 wickets in 40 overs with a top score of 58 from Sarda Balwansingh, while Sandeep Balwansingh bowled 7 overs for 21 runs and 1 wicket for Guyana.
The Guyana reached 193 for 5 wickets in 29 overs to comfortable win. Omar Bacchus top scored with 87. Bowling for Suriname Fox Doodnaught sent down 8 overs with 3 maidens for 24 runs and 2 wickets.
