Ithaca Hardliners ‘A’ win latest encounter as tourney continues

The Berbice Amateur Basketball Association 2017 Tournament for teams in Berbice and sponsored by Nigel Hinds Financial Net-game continued Sunday last at Ithaca Court.
Home side Ithaca Hardliners A second half offensive explosion propelled them to a 48-38 win over Canje Knights.
Hardliners trailed 12-7 in the first quarter while restricting Canje at the half time to 4 points to Hardliners 12. Hardliners in the third quarter led 30-24 as they moved on to complete victory.
For Ithaca, Royan Soloman scored 14 points and 8 rebounds, Phil Edwards supported with 4 three pointers and 5 rebounds, Ahkel Benjamin 9 points 4 rebounds, while for Knights Kevon Emanuel had 18 points and 5 rebounds, while Cledwin Cort supported with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
The competition continued tomorrow at Fyrish Basketball Court with Fyrish Black Sharks playing Ithaca Hardliners at 16:00hrs, while on Sunday Rose Hall Town Jammers will come up against Canje.
Trophies, cash and other incentives are up for grabs. The tournament is being organized by Vibert Garrett.
