Thyval Roberts, 28, a vendor of Lot 5 Princes Street Lodge, Georgetown, was yesterday released on $50,000 bail by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
The charge read that on July 26 at Princes Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession 58 grams of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The defendant was represented by Attorney-at-law, Adrian Thompson, who asked that his client be released on reasonable bail since he is not a flight risk and will return to court for the trial.
The lawyer told the court that the narcotics were allegedly found in the defendant’s home. He was not at home of the time of search.
The prosecutor had no objection to bail being granted to the defendant but asked that conditions be attached to the bail.
The condition attached to the bail is that the defendant report to the narcotics branch at the Criminal Investigation department (CID) every Monday until the completion of the trial. The defendant will make his next court appearance on August 11.
