As part of the national encampment schedule of activities, the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) held an interactive session with members of the National U17 Women’s team at the camp venue to build their capacity to interact

Media Training with National U17 team members conducted by GFF’s Communications and Public Relations Officer Debra Francis.
with the media.
This was facilitated by Debra Francis, GFF’s Communications and Public Relations Officer on Sunday last following their morning training session. Among the key areas addressed were the art of introductions, responding to questions including development and structure of responses and the importance of non-verbal communication such as posture and eye contact.
The female footballers were very receptive to the session and were given the opportunity to practice the key concepts shared, while receiving feedback from their colleagues.
”As national ambassadors, it is critical that team members give a sound representation of themselves both on and off the field. It begins with the youth players. This is the third such session conducted with a youth national team, the first two were held with the U15 and U17 Boys respectively at previous camps,” Francis said.
National encampment for the U17 girls’ team began on Saturday last in preparation for the CONCACAF Caribbean U17 Qualifiers scheduled for August 9 – 13 in Guyana.
Thirty (30) girls from six (6) GFF-Scotiabank Academy Training Centres have been called. The team trains twice a day at the National Track and Field Facility, Leonora.
