Due to the slowdown of the economy and outcries of the government to have more investment in Guyana’s business sector, Kaieteur Books Inc. has responded. The company is a sister company of National Media and Publishing Company Limited.
Managing Director of the company, Ms. Teshawana Lall, said that as a citizen of Guyana, it irritated her that “we as Guyanese have to import exercise books.” That initiative drove her to establish the exercise book company located at 24 Saffon Street, Charlestown, Georgetown.
Kaieteur Books Inc. has started the production of exercise books—- composition, single line, double line, plain (art) and checkered line. The company is also capable of doing large scale printing of customized books for companies, banks and schools.
Lall said that she is very passionate about education and the growth of Guyana on a whole, hence she felt the need to create something that would greatly impact youths of this country.
The press used by Kaieteur Books Inc. has the capability of producing 20,000 books per day. It is also the minimum amount that the company will print for its customers.
The company has been working tediously to ensure that quantities of exercise books are ready and packaged to hit local markets as soon as possible.
Guyana spent a whopping US$683,625 between 2010 and 2015 in exercise books. Statistics in this regard can be found at www.factfish.com/statistic-country/guyana/school+etc., +exercise+books, +import+value.
Ms. Lall plans to sell these exercise books for less, since the entire process is executed right here in Guyana. Her company will be contributing to Guyana’s economy and saving hundreds of thousand dollars (US).
Are you interested in having your logo on an exercise book? Would you like to personalize your company books? How about donating some books to a school? Then here is your chance. Kaieteur Books Inc. can print books with varying colourful pages, graphics, or an important picture. They all have the arithmetical tables on the back. Some feature the President and Members of Cabinet.
Kaieteur Books Inc. plans to take local printing and business in Guyana to another level. Not only will this business contribute to Guyana’s economic growth but it has already created employment for citizens. A dozen persons have already been hired to date. However, as the company expands hundreds of jobs will be created. Jobs will also be created in the area of distribution for the books cannot get to where they need to be by themselves.
The Managing Director has assured, too, that the company has the capability of producing books for the entire Caribbean region, and will be aggressively taking over the exercise book industry one country at a time, as plans are to export internationally.
Suriname, French Guiana and other territories will also have Kaieteur Books Inc. in the near future. The books will be done in the language of each territory to which they would be distributed. Most of the books’ designs portray popular celebrities and Guyana monuments.
