of raping him with a baton while he was in custody at the Timehri Station, was yesterday released on $50,000 bail after being slapped with yet another robbery charge.
Harding, 26, of 118 Laing Avenue West Ruimveldt, Housing Scheme appeared before City Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts where he pleaded not guilty to the charge which read that on April 15, at Lime Street, Georgetown, he robbed Margret Baird of three cellular phones valued $160,000, a pair of spectacles valued $48,000 among other articles to the value of $211,000.
Harding, a father of one and vendor, told Magistrate Fabayo Azore that he did not rob the woman and that he was willing to help her purchase a new pair of glasses since he has a sister with an eye problem and he knows how it feel to not have a glasses.
Harding further told the court that he was at home sleeping when the woman was robbed.
Harding was previously remanded to prison after it was alleged that he and another man robbed Jameel Williams of a Samsung cellular phone, a pocket knife and $15,000 cash.
In July 2014, Harding was charged with violently robbing Cheryl Ann Hope of $30,000 cash and three Samsung Galaxy S5 Smartphones costing $360,000 at Hadfield Street, Georgetown.
Harding will make his next court appearance on May 3.
