An 18-year-old plumber was yesterday remanded to prison by City Magistrate Fabayo Azore in
the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Kevon Ridley of 113 King Edward Street, Albouystown, is accused of robbing Linden Roberts of three gold chains valued $360,000 on March 24, last, while being in the company of another individual and armed with a gun. Ridley pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Police Prosecutor Simone Payne objected to bail for Ridley, citing the serious nature of the offence, the penalty it attracts, and its prevalence in society. Payne further told the court that the defendant admitted to robbing the victim.
Ridley was remanded to prison and will make his next court appearance on April 19.
