Adam Harris’ article was right on the ball

Adam Harris’ article in the Sunday 26th March edition of Kaieteur News, is right on point. He has covered all the angles and it is true that we didn’t have the will to stay with the import substitution thrust that occurred during the Burnham era.
So, Guyana is in fact wasting its foreign currency on food items that we really don’t have to import. Burnham was really not all bad; he made some good economic initiatives.
Mr. Harris’ article should be required reading in all high schools in Guyana as well as at U.G. It shows that Guyana could improve economically if we make some minor or major adjustments in the area of importing foodstuff.
I hope that Mr. Granger and Mr. Nagamootoo are paying attention. I hope that Freddie Kissoon can also learn a bit from Adam Harris by thinking in more positive terms about Guyana and realise that we do have a brighter future than Freddie predicts. It all depends on how you think about Guyana.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Instead of putting his mental powers into thinking negatively about Guyana, Freddie should turn it around. He has the power to do so and it should be easy for someone who claims to love Guyana.
Guyana needs you Freddie; stop being so negative. If you throw your fine mind behind Guyana, we could accomplish great things
