A recent career fair staged by the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) was well received by
Secondary School children in Region Three.
The fair, which was held at the Leonora Technical and Vocational Training Centre aimed at exposing students to Guyanese organizations and institutions at which they could embark on promising careers upon completion of school.
Booths set up by the GDF were visited by scores of students from across the region. They were sensitized to various units in the force and various items of kit and equipment used across the GDF.
The students also benefited from health check-ups which included blood pressure testing and blood group identification.
The participating of the army in the event is as a result of its statecraft partnership with the Ministry of Education. The exercise was geared towards educating school children about the role and responsibility of the GDF to the nation.
