Dear Editor,
Congratulations to the citizens and to the police force. Over the past three weeks there have been fewer reports of murders and robberies in our local newspapers. I am delighted in this trend. In the absence of statistics, taking my observations at face value, I say boldly, this is a prayer granted. A ray of hope. By faith, I can speak of a developed Guyana.
Today, what I read in the daily newspapers are tiny matters. Complaints about VAT are slowly disappearing and the parking meters are fighting to remain. One thing that may be another challenge though, is the selection of the GECOM chairman. President Granger has made his requests known and, honestly speaking, we need to respect him. With due respect to those with opposing views, I ask the following questions – Is a court action really necessary? Is this the right time for a court action? Is it possible to challenge an eligibility criterion for any position? Some employers are tough.
I mentioned that these matters are tiny. However, they have the potential to shift our focus and strip us of valuable energy and resources. To combat this, it would be great to see our people working hand in hand to build our dear land. I had a weird thought of re-writing history so that opposing parties are forbidden to give public speeches. Instead, they must show, by actions, their plans for our land. In addition, any disagreement with the governing party must be detailed in writing, along with plausible alternatives. There is too much talent and intellect in Guyana, not too see great things happen.

(Kaieteur News) – Ever hear about Doubting Thomas? Those who didn’t should consult with their Bibles.
