Dear Editor,
The Regional Administration of Region 5 (Mahaica/Berbice) management team has developed its procurement plan for 2017budget implementation. The procurement plan will ensure that the Regional Administration deliver services to the residents of Region 5 in a timely, efficient; effective and transparent process. Procurement plays a key role within your region’s operations; there is no doubt of the importance of planning in order to maximize outcomes.
To put it simply, procurement planning defines a process whereby Region 5’s management team has established what needs to be procured (goods, services or works), when they need to be procured (contract timeframes). Procurement planning has provided benefit for Region5, such as the opportunity for all stakeholders to meet and discuss procurement requirements and objectives. The region had its first procurement workshop with contractors on 20th of January, 2017. When it comes to procurement processes within Region 5, failing to plan is planning to fail. Mahaica/Berbice region which set aside time to methodically plan our procurement approach will enjoy a more organized, effective, efficient and transparent service delivery to the people of Mahaica/Berbice Region.
Govind Singh
Deputy Regional Executive Officer
