Vice President of the GOA Charles Corbin on Thursday afternoon handed over a cheque for the sum of $1.5m which will aid in the preparation of the team, to President of the GSA David Fernandes at a simple ceremony held at the GOA office in High Street.
Head of the GOA K. Juman Yassin said that another such presentation will be made shortly and he hoped that it will boost their chances.
President of the GSA Fernandes thanked the GOA for their input. “We have some overseas as well as some local players and we intend to help them with their preparation. Some of the best players in the world compete at the Commonwealth Games so it is difficult to say how well we will do, but with our assistance which is important we hope that they can make us proud,” he said.
