Under the theme, “Forging ahead with professionalism and Intelligence-led policing in collaboration with stakeholders,” the annual Officers’ Conference of the Guyana Police Force is set to begin today.
It will be held at the Officers’ Mess Annexe, Eve Leary at 09:00 hrs and the same time on Saturday.
Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo, who currently is performing the duties of President, is slated to deliver the feature address. It will be the Commissioner of Police Seelall Persaud’s last conference, since he will be proceeding on pre-retirement leave.
Meanwhile, in order to facilitate the conference, the traffic department has advised that Young Street, between Camp Road and Parade Street will be closed from 07:30 to approximately 10:00 hrs today and from 17:30 hrs to 24:00 hrs on Saturday.
