Dear Editor,
A Guyana Chronicle newspaper report in Monday’s issue raised eyebrows and some readers sent out emails to their relatives and friends wrongfully stating that the Pontiff was engaged in sexual activities. It is not only distasteful, but it is totally wrong for the newspaper which is being financed
by taxpayers of the country to publish such garbage. The report was under the rubric “Pope in pickle – images surface of Pope Emanuel in bed with several women” The article stated that the so called Pope of Beacon Ministries was in pornographic mode with several females. Some people completely misunderstood the piece and were peddling false and misleading reports. It is unfortunate that the press especially a newspaper owned and controlled by the government should indulge in gutter journalism when there are so many important happenings that are not reported. I think that the Chronicle should highlight developmental activities and point out the wrong doings in the Republic.
