Driver remanded for attempted murder
A minibus driver was on Thursday remanded to prison after he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer to the charge of attempted murder.
The allegation against Clayson Clementson, 47, read that on October 31, at Lodge, Georgetown he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Andrea Phillips with the intent to murder her.
Police Prosecutor, Neville Jeffers, told the court that Phillips was not present in court because she is still in hospital in a critical condition.
The unrepresented man was not required to plea to the indictable charge when it was read to him by the Chief Magistrate.
Clementson was remanded to prison and will make his next court appearance on November 22.
