This sawmill needs to be investigated
Dear Editor;
For almost 2 years I have been complaining about a sawmill on the East Bank being allowed to operate in a residential community. This is even worse since there is a dispute regarding the ownership of the land, and I was told by Mr Halls of the Ministry of Environment and senior people at the EPA that if there is a dispute as to who owns the property, then no business can operate there. This is important because in the event of injury or loss of life, we need to know who is liable. I was raking the grass up in front of my bridge and a truck turned out of the sawmill.
I was a mere 6 feet away from death after all the greenheart planks came tumbling down.
