Sophia baby died from Bronco asphyxiation

The babysitter who was arrested on Wednesday after an infant, who was left in her care died, has been released from police custody. This was after a post mortem examination revealed that the child died from bronco asphyxiation.
This is a condition where the baby choked on his meal.
The PM was done yesterday by Government Pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh, at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Six-month-old Deykel Robertson, of 92 Plum Park, Sophia, was pronounced dead at the Campbellville Health Centre after 12:30 hrs on Wednesday. He died shortly after his babysitter fed him and put him to sleep.
The baby’s mother, Shantel Alleyne, explained that she was informed that the woman did not burped the child and this might have contributed in him choking on his porridge after she put him to sleep.
It was the infant’s second day staying at the home of the babysitter who takes care of three other children.
