Police in ‘B’ divison have arrested another person in connection with the gruesome murder of an East Canje livestock farmer, from Gangaram Settlement This was confirmed by acting Commander of ‘B’ Division, Kevin Adonis.
The police acting on information received and arrested a livestock farmer known as ‘Speculation’, who resides one village.
The commander confirmed that the second person was also taken to Georgetown where the other suspect currently is.
Investigations have intensified as relatives of the deceased and residents of Gangaram Village are calling for swift justice.
Last Tuesday, 38-year-old, Ramnarine Itwaru, called ‘Bill’, of Lot 84 Gangaram Settlement, East Canje was discovered with four bullet wounds on Wing Road, a Guysuco dam in the Settlement.
The livestock farmer reportedly left his home around 01:00 pm to cut grass for his animals in the said area.
Residents previously disclosed that gun shots were heard in the village some time between 02:00 pm and 03:00 pm.
It was revealed by Itwaru’s wife, Kunti Hemraj that the first suspect in custody had threatened her husband to “finish him off” over a land dispute.
Investigations are ongoing.
