National all-rounder Christopher Barnwell struck a fine unbeaten 87 to lead Floodlights to an eight-wicket victory over G Square Cavaliers of Wakenaam in a T20 fixture played on Friday night at Demerara Cricket Club.
Barnwell hammered four fours and eight sixes as Floodlight chasing 176, reached 178-2 in 18.1 overs. Anil Beharry was not out on 26 when victory was achieved, while Yunnis Yusuf made 35 (3×4,3×6) and Ramo Malone 20 (3×4). Kamal Khan and Mahindra Dindyal took one wicket each.
Earlier, Kamal Khan led Cavaliers batting with 43 including three fours and four maximums, while Jaggernauth Manbodh made 40 (6×4), Heera Sukram 26 and Toolsie Sahadeo 23. K. Baksh and Dharam Persaud claimed two wickets each and Romeo Deonaraine one.
Patrick Khan of Floodlights was given the best fielder award, Deonaraine the best bowler prize and Barnwell the best batsman accolade. Both teams received trophies. The game was sponsored by Factory Price.
