Two men in their early 20s have confessed to the murder of 76-year-old David Ramkissoon, who was found in his Betterhope, East Coast Demerara (ECD) home with his throat slit on August 21, last.
The suspects were arrested by detectives in ‘C’ Division early yesterday and during interrogation, they confessed to the murder.
Kaieteur News was reliably informed that the suspects claimed that it was a normal day at work (robbery) when the pensioner was killed. They said that they were in the area and decided to raid the house where the pensioner lived.
A police source said that detectives have been gathering intelligence for a while and decided to strike yesterday after gathering enough information.
The body of David Ramkissoon, aka “Shortman”, a father of five, was discovered in a pool of blood in the living room by his son, around 19:30 hrs on August 21, last.
His son had just returned home after spending the day at a creek on the Soesdyke/ Linden Highway with his family when he made the shocking discovery.
Investigations are ongoing.
