Late yesterday evening at approximately 23:20 hrs, a driver lost control of his vehicle while heading north along Vlissengen Road in the vicinity of West Ruimveldt. He reportedly hit two other parked vehicles which were
on the eastern side of the road. The vehicles were in the process of toppling, before turning turtle.
The driver of the car that caused the accident had a passenger in the front seat. They both came out unharmed.
Residents of that area said that they heard a loud noise and went out to investigate. A witness reportedly saw the car that caused the accident, “flying in de air with fire”.
The driver was reportedly under the Influence (DUI). Police officers came on the scene about 15 minutes later to investigate.
