Despite the efforts of the ground staff, play on the second day of the Guyana Cricket Board Jaguars three-day league between Essequibo and East Bank Demerara was not possible at the Everest Cricket Club yesterday.
Play was halted on the first day due to rain after Essequibo were 8-1 off three overs, batting first having lost Kevon Boodie lbw to Ryan Shun for five.
The showers left sections of the outfield soggy and after an inspection, the umpires ruled out any possibility of play at 15:30 hrs.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Avenash Persaud are on one each; play is expected to start at 09:30hrs today.
