A large and competitive field of some of the best exponents of the game of Pools turned up at the Grand Central Pools Bar, popularly known, Jerries Shop, at Grove on the East Bank of Demerara to battle for the attractive prizes

on offer in the Sharpshooting Pools Competition last Sunday.
The entries were much and this extended the competition way into the morning hours and when it was all settled Gowkarran Mangru stormed to the championship spot, beating out David Odel, Clarence Baker and Steive Rafeek in that order in an extremely competitive showing among some of the best players around.
Devon Singh copped the MVP prize for his showing during the event.
For his effort Mangru claimed the $100,000 first prize, while Odel took away $40,000 and Baker $20,000 along with the respective trophies, while the fourth place finisher Rafeek collected a trophy.
The tournament was sponsored by Eddie’s Bobcat, Excavator and Construction Service, Shaffie Mohamed Mining Company, Ansa McAl Trading, L. Mahabeer and Son Cambio, Sahadeo Mining, Khemraj Nauth Contracting Service, Grand Central (Jerries) Pool Bar, A1 Imports and Cell Phone Shack.
