Guyanese runners fail to get past first round
Guyanese runners Winston George and Brenessa Thompson failed to advance past the respective 400m and 100m qualifying events at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro last evening.
George finished fifth in his 400m heat, while Thompson managed 8th in her 100m first round heat as the athletics competition got underway yesterday with field and some track events.
