Cabinet earlier last week, gave its no objection to several contracts for the provision of dietary supplies for the various prisons throughout the country. These contracts amounted to some $266M.
The contracts for the procurement of dietary supplies for the Georgetown Prison were granted to Nigel’s Supermarket; Guyana Trading Company; Paradise Food Court; and the Guyana Green Grocery in the total amount of $120.3 M.
The contracts for the procurement of dietary supplies for the New Amsterdam Prison were awarded to: the GuynazGreen Grocery; Paradise Food Court; R.Maraj General Contracting; and Dabi’s Variety. The total sum awarded was $50,241,372.
Procurement of dietary supplies for the Mazaruni Prison for selected items went to Guyana Green Grocery and the Paradise Food Court to the tune of $75.3M while dietary supplies contracts for the Lusignan Prison for selected totalling $20.3M were awarded to Guynaz Green Grocery; Paradise Food Court; Dabi’s Variety; GuyanaTrading Company; and Nigel’s Supermarket.
Meanwhile, the Old Linden Hospital has been slated for rehabilitation. This contract was awarded to Barron’s Exclusive for the sum of $17.4 M while the contract for the rehabilitation of the Mackenzie Water Treatment Plant – also in Linden, was awarded to B. K. International Inc at the sum of $23,050,515.
The contract for the Water Treatment Plant at Watooka, Linden, was awarded to Samaroo Investments in the sum of $25,656,000.
For the supply of one Mobile Car Crusher to the Ministry of Public Infrastructure for the sum of G$40.8M was awarded to Dax Contracting Services while the contract for the provision of an Electrical 12-Ton truck scale, also for the Ministry was awarded to Superior Shingles and Wood Products Inc in the sum of $15,193,500.
Cabinet also gave its no objection for the supply of Medical Science Laboratory Equipment to the University of Guyana. This contract was awarded to the Netcom Computer City and South Caribbean Distributors at a total sum of $29,998,210.
Contracts for the provision of consulting services for the provision of Training Manuals to the Guyana Water Inc. were awarded to Massy Technologies Infocom (Trinidad) Ltd in the sum of US$87,891 while the contract for consultancy services for a training programme for procurement officials and to provide Technical Support to develop procurement Plants for the Ministry of Finance in the sum of US$192,900, was awarded to the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
