Maria’s Pleasure and G Square Cavaliers recorded victories when the
G Square Cavaliers SC T20 tournament commenced yesterday in Belle Plaine, Wakenaam.
Maria’s Pleasure defeated Sans Souci by 10 wickets. Batting first, Good Success made 114 off their reduced quota of 15 overs. Abdool Salim led with 39 (2×4, 2×6) and Gurnauth Khemraj got 24 (2×4,2×6); Kennard Lewis claimed 3-34 and Bernard Lewis 2-6.
Maria’s Pleasure were set a revised target of 71 from with eight overs due to rain, and attained victory in 6.3 overs without loss. Bernard Lewis struck four fours and seven sixes in scoring 62.
G Square Cavaliers beat Zeelandia by eight wickets. Batting first Zeelandia made 137 after the game was reduced to 15 overs. Ajay Ghansam slammed 43 (3X4,4X6) while Ricardo Adams got 32 (2×4,2×6) as Kamal Khan captured 2-32.
Khan then stroked a fine 55 as G Square Cavaliers responded with 141-2 in 14 overs. Jaggernauth Manbodh cracked 46.
The competition concludes today.
