Guyana Tourism Authority and Kings Jewellery World join
hands with RHTYSC, MS as official co-sponsor.
The plans of the eight cricket teams of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, MS to host the best ever Town Week in the history of Guyana, received a major boost when the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) and King Jewellery World came on board as co-sponsors.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster along with Executive member Mark Papannah last Thursday paid a working visit to the Sophia Exhibition Site of the GTA and held a follow up discussion with the Director of Tourism Mr. Indranauth Haralsingh and Tourism Officer Raj Roopnarine.
Mr. Haralsingh after he had visited the Club Office in June and a proposal package was submitted to the GTA, the two organisations agreed to work together to organise the best ever Town Week with the main objectives promoting the township and attracting tourists.
The Guyana Tourism Authority would be joining the Office of the Prime Minister to donate another 100 Guyana flags to decorate the entire township, two large banners to welcome visitors to the town, sponsor the publication of 500 large posters depicting historical sites located in Rose Hall Town and sponsoring the first prize of $50,000 for the Rose Hall Town Cuisine Competition.
The GTA would also be operating a booth at the historic Rose Hall Town Career and Business Fair on Thursday 22nd of September while the RHTYSC would be accommodated in the GTA booth at the Berbice Expo to promote the event to the general public. The GTA Director also promised to assist the Club to seek sponsorship for some tourists seating in the Family Recreational Park which would be opened during the Town Week by the Cricket teams.
The Club Secretary/CEO expressed gratitude to the Guyana Tourism Authority for its support and assured them that the events would be well organised.
Meanwhile, the RHYTSC, MS has also received the cooperation of Managing Director of the world renowned Kings Jewellery World, Mr. Looknauth Persaud in hosting the first ever Rose Hall Town Cuisine Competitions. Residents of the township would be involved in a Yard Fowl Curry Cooking Competition. The top three winners would take home over $100,000 worth of cash prizes trophies and medals.
King’s Jewellery World would support with the necessary cooking equipment, banners to promote the event, trophies for the top winners and provide judges the for historic competition which would be opened to only residents of Rose Hall Town.
Foster expressed gratitude to MR. Persaud and Kings Jewellery World for they continued assistance to the RHTYSC.
MR. Foster also disclosed that Demerara Bank has indicated that they would sponsor the Spelling Bee competition for primary school students while the organisers are also on the verge of clinching several deals with Major sponsors.
