A fine century from Guyanese Travis Blyden handed Pioneer CC a 107-run victory over Big Apple CC when the Busta 50-over tournament continued recently in New York.
Blyden struck seven fours and six maximums in scoring an unbeaten 127 as Pioneer CC posted 222-6 after they opted to bat at Gateway Park. Paul Biggs got 41 as former Guyana opening batsman Richard Ramdeen claimed 2-36.
Big Apple were sent packing for 115 in 20 overs. Ramdeen made 37 with two fours and four sixes while another former Guyanese Steve Massiah hit one four and three sixes in 36. Chris Cleveland grabbed 4-26 from six overs, while Blyden who celebrated his 27th birthday on the said day of the match, took 1-17. The game was reduced to 35 overs.
Pioneer CC have now recorded three wins in a succession and have moved up to 5th place on the points table.
