Dear Editor;
Please, if you may, publish my attached letter in the interest of the Enmore Community. Since the last Local Government elections, a number of new Councillors are now on board in the Council. Unfortunately, the Council seems unable to get on with its work because every meeting is broken up.
I am aware that the Region 4 Administration is knowledgeable of what is happening and I am also aware that politics is being used as a football to frustrate the NDC rather than offering proper guidance. This kind of situation appears to be gaining traction, as we see in Region Five, Region 2 and Region 4. If this is the spinoff from the recent elections, then we are sliding down hill at a rapid pace with many in authority turning their faces the other way. Thus, in the Enmore area, while the public is expecting certain deliverables, the Councillors are hobbled by dictats from the Regional Adminstration.
It is my humble view that Party loyalty should take second place where local and national development is concerned. The electorate voted for their representatives not to be stumbling blocks but to be agents of change and progress. I am appealing, via this medium, that the news media do an exposė of what is going on at the Enmore/Hope NDC. The truth needs to be known.

The government need to take note. Many other councils are not functioning and the authority seems not to be interested in taking action. If the councils are not functioning then the government should step in and ensure that the community receives service.
