One man called (Slant Eye) is now in custody following the recovery of a .32 revolver which was stolen from the R.K Security Office at 86 Amsville, Housing Scheme, No. 41, New Amsterdam, Berbice on Friday evening.
According to information one of the supervisors working on Friday evening removed the gun from the locker and left it on a desk. She then went to make some checks. Upon her return the gun was missing. The matter was reported and the supervisor along with a few others was taken into custody.
The police began conducting investigations and acting upon information they arrested a man living nearby.
After he was interrogated he decided to squeal.
Investigators learnt that the action of the supervisor was a routine one. Slant Eye and others observed her movements and decided to make their move on Friday. He remains in custody and is expected to be charged soon.
