An 18-year-old boy was yesterday released on $10,000 bail on a charge of allegedly snatching a woman’s cell phone.
Delon Henry, of 34 Agricola Public Road, pleaded not guilty to the charge of larceny from the person when city Magistrate Annette Singh read the charge to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It is alleged that on June 27, at Agricola Public Road, he stole a Blu cell phone valued $20,000 from Tricel August.
Police Prosecutor, Aduni Inniss, stated that August was standing at Agricola Public Road with a phone in her hand. She noted that Henry went up to her (August), on a red bicycle snatched her phone and rode away.
Police Prosecutor Inniss further stated that on June 29, August in the company of police officers pointed out Henry who was arrested and charged for the offence.
The Magistrate granted bail and ordered that Henry return to court on July 15.
