(Georgetown, Guyana) – Xcite has become a new official sponsor for the Guyana Amazon Warriors as they prepare to compete in this year’s Hero Caribbean Premier League which kicks off on June 29 in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Xcite tablets are manufactured by the New Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation INC (NEW GPC INC).
Team Manager of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Omar Khan said that he was pleased to have Xcite on broad while noting that its support and sponsorship will go a far way in boosting the confidence of the team.
“We are happy that local companies and their products are showing so much support for our team by providing sponsorship in various forms. In return, we promise to deliver exciting performances throughout the tournament,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, NEW GPC INC’s General Manager Ravie Ramcharitar said that the Amazon Warriors can look forward to future support from the product and brand.
He said, “We were encouraged by the zeal, dynamism and commitment of the team over the years to excellence. We believe in cricket and its transformative impact. We think that Xcite also has the ability to assist people in various ways to meet their own personal goals. Xcite wants to provide also of its users with another opportunity to relive their youth.”
Xcite’s sponsorship of the team is also as a result of the fact that the Guyana Amazon Warriors have been very dominant in the three exciting tournaments so far having played in two finals (2013 and 2014) and in the semi-final last year.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors will play 10 games in the preliminary phase of the League, with four matches in Guyana, two in Florida, and one each in Trinidad and Tobago, St Kitts and Nevis, Jamaica and St Lucia.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors will begin their four exciting and high quality home matches on Thursday July 7 against the 2014 Champions the Jamaica Tallawahs at 19:00 Hrs, then on Saturday July 9 they will play the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots from noon. The Martin Guptil led side will then turn their attention to the Trinbago Knight Riders on Sunday July 10 from 19:00 Hrs and will wrap up the leg of local matches on Tuesday July 12 against the St. Lucia Zouks at 19:00hrs.
