Dale left us suddenly yesterday
His smile did not his death betray
He never got to say goodbye
That’s why for him last night I cried
Why did Dale leave us all so soon?
Kaieteur News office is filled with Gloom
He was the effervescent, consummate journalist
As a crime writer was the best
All his colleagues will surely miss him
The trumpets blare the bells will ring
Destiny brought Dale to us
Death’s great sting, no one can trust
His laughter at times was hilarious
His knowledge was imperious
I shared so many jokes with Dale
I cannot quantitate the tales
When Dale is buried six foot deep
His friends and family, all will weep
It is well, it will be well, with his soul
Death sting fOr all of us unfolds
Goodbye Dale your clock resets
God’s blessing and eternal rest.
