The Georgetown Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association (GCUSA) training classes are set to commence on Thursday at the Demerara Cricket Club starting at 17:00hrs.
The classes which is design to prepare students for preliminary examination is open to the public especially new and aspiring umpires, current and inactive umpires, players, coaches, cricket administrators and journalists who wish to ascertain themselves with the laws of cricket.
A special appeal is being made for females since there is a great demand for this gender of umpires.
Among the lecturers are former international umpire Eddie Nicholls, West Indies international umpire Nigel Duguid, Colin Alfred, Shannon Crawford and Nandkumar Shivsankar.
Sessions will continue on every Tuesdays and Thursday of every week at 17:00hrs at the said venue.
