Pastor Lorna Amsterdam, who heads the US-based Heatburn Community Mission, donated 100 sheets and bedspreads to the management of the Suddie Public Hospital recently.

Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Sonia Gray who received the sheets on behalf of the hospital noted that while health care cannot stand alone and that it would take the effort and support of a community to foster better health care, the items donated by the NOG would e shared with the Oscar Joseph Hospital at Charity and other health posts in the Pomeroon River.
The Heatburn Community Mission is a small non- governmental organisation which is finding ways to give back to the communities in Guyana.
Pastor Lorna Amsterdam, who heads the NOG outside of Guyana, migrated to the United States in 1988. She has an honorary doctorate in theology and is the pastor for the End of Time Assembly Ministry of which she has served for the past 21years.
Pastor Amsterdam also donated 150 bed sheets to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. This donation was prompted when Pastor Amsterdam’s brother was a patient in the Institution and the need was observed.
Ms. Fiona McKoy Admin Manager, GPHC received the gift on behalf of the institution and expressed appreciation for the warm gesture.
