The People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) has expressed profound regret at the passing
Jules Kranenburg (left) and President Hugh Desmond Hoyte.
of Jules Richard Kranenburg.
“Dickie”, as he was familiarly called, had an outstanding career in the Maritime Division of the Transport and Harbours Department where he achieved the position of Chief Pilot before being seconded to the Bauxite Industry Development Company (BIDCO) and head of its Shipping Department.
In October 1986, President Hugh Desmond Hoyte appointed Kranenburg as one of his Technocrat Ministers. This caused Kranenburg to become a parliamentarian.
Kranenburg who was then Shipping Manager of BIDCO, was appointed Minister of Works and Communications
He served with distinction as Minister of Public Works until 1992 when the PNC Government demitted office following the General Elections of that year.
President David Granger and other members of the PNCR’s Central Executive Committee have extended heartfelt condolences to Mr. Kranenburg’s wife, Megan; daughter, Karen; and all other sorrowing relatives and friends.
