May 19, 2016 Letters
Dear Editor,
I refer to a letter that was published in the Guyana Chronicle dated Sunday 16th May, 2016 under the caption “This man is trouble for Region 5” and it was written by a person who claimed to be a concerned member of MMA\ADA board.
The writer maybe ashamed to state his\her name but this writer here will always state his name in every letter that he writes, because I am for the people of Region 5 and Guyana at large. I am not ashamed of my name or position that I have in Government because everything that I do is to the best of my ability for the development of the people of this region and country. Attacks on me won’t stop me from representing the people and to stand up for what is right and best for my region and development.
The writer in the second paragraph of the letter accuses me of bad mouthing a senior Gov. Minister from APNU. Well that writer needs to know that when I have something to say about any Minister, I say it as I see it and in front of all not some because I do not look for a favor. But the writer said that it pains him\her to hear what I say, then said in the latter part of that sentence that he\she understands that I smartly chooses when and where to do so. So this is hearsay or is the writer just implicating him\herself and trying some things to create a problem within the APNU\AFC nationally and regionally esp in region 5 or is someone writing the letter for the writer and he\she just put the contact info on it?
The writer mentioned about the accident that I was involved in and seems not to be familiar with the place that he\she claims I frequent. It is a Chinese restaurant and not a Chinese bar. I suppose he\she should ask the former Attorney General who a few Mondays ago peeped upon me after his meeting at Freedom House in Bath to see what I was doing there at the Chinese Restaurant. That entire column of where the writer mentioned that I said as to who will take care of things is totally false and if he\she is truthful then why is it that there is no name to the letter. It seems to be this writer has a personal agenda or an agenda to see me being fired so that the PPP can continue lying and fooling the people. But if I am to be fired, I will still stand up for the people of this region and continue to educate them as to the truth.
Getting me fired is on top of the PPP agenda every time they have meeting at Bath Freedom House or on television, in this way the PPP knows that they will get to the people. As I say publicly and I will say again that I am not responsible for the LGE in Region 5 and that it was APNU Regional Councilor Mr. Takoor Singh that was given the mandate in ensuring that APNU+AFC fielded a team for LGE in the Bath\Woodley Park NDC but he failed and at the last moment we were all made to understand that the information he forwarded to the LGE Campaign Director\Manager for Region 5 was full of faults. But I will assure the writer by the next LGE the APNU\AFC will surely have a team that will contest that NDC. So be prepared and wait to see what will happen in the next three years if the Almighty grant the health and strength to all.
I will like to clearly state that I will not stay quiet and allow you or anyone to misrepresent the facts. The people need to know the truth and that is why I am putting my name on all the letters that I send to the press unlike this writer who seems scared to see his\her name in public. Everything that I do is transparent and accounted for and I do not act as a one man show but always consults members of my board whenever something needs to be done.
As to the cenotaph and fun park at Fort Wellington, the board approved; not Abel Setaram and there was/is an agreement between MARDS, the 50th Independence Committee of Region 5 and the Regional Democratic Council of Region 5. I therefore will ask that the writer visit the RDC and seek more info as to how the contractor was chosen to do the work.
I did not attack MMA\ADA, I said the truth about what was taking place with that entity since MARDS and MMA\ADA had one chairman for years who was behaving as an executive chairman of both entities and made all the decisions by himself. I was given information of the wrong doings at MMA\ADA under that man and it was handed to the Minister of Agriculture and Junior Minister of Finance. I stand with my board as to regaining the things that was taken away from MARDS by the then leadership of both boards. I am not naming any specific member
The writer talks of the money that was taken from MARDS and paid to the Force Account Unit of the then Ministry of Public Works but yet fails to say as to why was MARDS money given to build a road at MMA that does not benefit the farmers of MARDS. While the residents and farmers of Burma have a deplorable Burma road to deal with daily. Come on justify why that happen.
The machines cost MARDS over thirty five million dollars but as soon it was purchased it was given to MMA and MARDS was ordered to pay MMA millions of dollars for D&I work yearly that is being done by the said machines. MARDS fuel those machines whenever they are being used to do works in the Burma area. It is like someone builds a house and pays the person to live in it and also pay for all the cleaning to be done. So the writer must educate him\herself on the issue surrounding the MMA\ADA and MARDS.
The writer mentions that he\she is a concerned member of the board but yet did not know that MMA\ADA and MARDS met last week as to discuss the situation mentioned above. This person as a member needs to be more active in the works of his\her board rather than to allow someone to pen a letter for them to sign. I will continue to fight for the rights of my people and to put my name on my letters that are being sent to the media. Long live region 5 and Guyana. Long Live APNU+AFC Government.
