Trophy Stall Independence Open and Age Group Badminton Tourney
The Trophy Stall Independence Open and Age Group Badminton tournament served off on Wednesday last at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with play in the Open Men’s Singles, Under-17 Boys and Girls Singles categories.

Following are the results of the day’s action:
Open Men Singles
Marlon Chang defeated Akili Haynes: 21-12, 21-11; Avinash Odit got past Gokarn Ramdhani: 21-15, 21-12; Jonathan Mangra trounced Chet Bowling: 21-6, 21-7; Priyanna Ramdhani thumped Sekhar Mallampati: 21-3, 21-6 (Priyanna played in the Men’s Division since there was not much competition in the Ladies Division).
Under-17 Girls Semi-Finals
Priyanka Shivnauth squeezed past Gabriela Pertab: 22-20, 16-21, 11-21
Under-17 Boys Singles – Round Robin
Tyreese Jeffrey defeated Tyreese Richards: 21-5, 25-23
Due to a Power outage the tournament had to finish earlier than expected and was scheduled to continue yesterday afternoon. Tomorrow, the Under-11 and 13 events will be played off from 10:00hrs.
