A Superintendant attached to the Mayor and City Council’s City Police Division was detained last night after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
According to reports, the two had shared a nine-month relationship, but yesterday, the 28-year-old woman indicated that she wanted to end the friendship.
Kaieteur News was told that the superintendant, who was armed and under the influence of alcohol, later showed up at the woman’s North Sophia home.
He then assaulted her.
Police ranks were notified and the rank was taken into custody.
