Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan yesterday remanded a 21-year-old man after he appeared before her to
Michael Jackson
answer a Break and Enter charge.
Michael Jackson of Bartica/ Potaro Road Bartica, Cuyuni Mazaruni denied the charge that between April 16 and April 17 at Three and a Half Mile Bartica/Potaro Road he broke into the dwelling house of Felicia Jones and stole two gold wedding bands, one silver ring, two artificial rings and one black tablet.
According to the prosecution, Jackson has a matter of a similar nature at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
Prosecutor Neville Jeffers told the court that only the black tablet among the several items was recovered by the police. The Prosecutor said it was found on the defendant who was unrepresented.
But Jackson, who spoke from the prisoners docks, claimed that his brother returned the items to the virtual complainant. She was not present.
He was remanded to prison and the matter was transferred to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court where it will be called again on May 11.
